Who we are

Troy Cudworth

Troy received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business/Economics from Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL and his Master of Science degree in Education from California Lutheran University. Though he has taught math at all grade levels, the bulk of his experience has come from his work as a resource specialist at the Middle School level working with both the learning disabled and GATE students. At this position he was able to develop individualized programs for students with special needs that would empower them for greater success in the classroom. He helps with organizational and study skills, problem solving, mathematical concepts, and homework help. Troy is now available to tutor: Basic Math, Pre Algebra, Algebra I, II, Geometry, and Trigonometry.

Leah Easley

Leah received her Bachelors of Arts (Magna Cum Laude) in English Literature and a Certification in Secondary Education (6-12) from Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL. She has experience teaching English in the classroom as well as private tutoring in all subject areas. Leah has worked with international students, including tutoring an Afghanistan immigrant and lecturing in Zimbabwe. She has worked with both gifted students and students with special needs. Leah teaches a variety of literary genres, including non-fiction, fiction, dramas, and poetry. She also teaches English writing and language skills, such as vocabulary, spelling, grammar, syntax, and style. Her tutoring includes teaching organizational methods, effective study habits, and test-taking techniques. Leah is available to tutor: American, British and World Literature, Writing, ACT/SAT prep for reading and writing.

Jordan Easley

Jordan received his Bachelors of Arts (Cum Laude) in Literature and Writing from Wheaton College. He has published multiple articles and poems in local newspapers and journals. He has experience teaching and tutoring international students. This includes one-on-one tutoring with immigrants from Afghanistan as well as lecturing/tutoring overseas in Zimbabwe. He has also tutored students from elementary to high school levels in a variety of subject areas through groups such as Kiwanis and National Honor Society. Jordan teaches organization, study skills, and test-taking techniques along with any tutoring course. He specializes in essay writing, creative writing, grammar, and writing style.  Jordan is available to tutor: American and British literature, SAT/ACT test prep in reading and writing, and composition for all ages including college entrance exam essay writing.

Ryan Murdoch

Ryan graduated from Gordon College with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with minors in English and Art. He has been licensed in the state of Massachusetts to teach English grades 8-12 and to teach Special Needs grades 5-12. He was trained to teach at the internationally known Landmark School in Beverly Farms, where he taught Geometry and English Language Arts Tutorials,  and in the Masters of Science in Special Needs program at Simmons College. He has taught and tutored in public and private High Schools and Middle Schools, in a wide range of subjects including, American History, English Language Arts, Algebra I and II,  Pre-Algebra, Basic Math, Geometry, Trigonometry, Biology, Chemistry, Political Philosophy, British Literature, American Literature, Earth Sciences, and has been a guest teacher in Creative Writing Poetry. He has had poetry published in the Gordon College fine arts magazine The Idiom. He had a short film featured in the Gordon College film festival. Ryan is currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Counseling at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is available for Special Needs consultations, tutoring in English Language Arts, Basic Math, Geometry, Algebra I and II, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Political Philosophy, American History, British and American Literature, Philosophy, and Psychology. Ryan specializes in working with students with mild to moderate special needs like dyslexia (language based learning disabilities), ADD and ADHD.

Lisa Spataro

Lisa received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts and her Masters in Special Education from Boston University. Her academic accomplishments included a triple major in the disciplines of Mathematics, Elementary Education and Special Education. During her years at Gordon College, she privately tutored students in the surrounding communities in Mathematics and Reading. She also participated in a variety of programs, including The Big Sister Program and was the Coordinator of a government funded student-led tutoring program. Upon graduating in 2005, Lisa volunteered as a 5th and 6th grade teacher of missionary children in the Amazon jungle of Brazil. Her teaching experience there covered all subject areas and a variety of ability groups. Presently, Lisa is in her third year of teaching special needs students at a local middle school.

Paul Clemens

Paul received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics and a Secondary Education Teaching Certification from Northwestern College of Iowa. He has two years of experience at the high school level as a certified Math teacher and a basketball and golf coach.  He taught courses in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Physics and AP Calculus. He also served as a tutor for undergraduate students while he was in college, tutoring Calculus, Physics and Chemistry. He teaches math study skills, problem-solving, test-taking skills and mathematical concepts, and also helps students with SAT/ACT math preparation. He has worked with students in public and private school settings and is available to tutor Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, and Calculus I.
